So what you’re saying Mike is that Apple basically did the same thing with their App Stores as Google does with all of their services just without the beta label to keep people excited? :-)
I must say although I think some of the deals to get your apps into the store are pretty good, Apple should have thought of a better/free way for existing costumers to opt in the app store. Also one thing I’m not sure app developers are going to be able to do is offer deals with special codes to reduce the price which I hope if it’s not there will be an feature that they will add in the future.

I wish I’d said it that way… :)
I believe we’ll see the Mac App Store evolve to a point where discounts and/or upgrades will be possible. As long as the Mac remains an open platform, the danger to Apple’s new little venture from competitors is too great otherwise.
In other words, imagine Amazon.com opening an “app store” that improves upon Apple’s efforts (offering all that the Mac App Store doesn’t), make it for both Mac and Windows, and offer better margins than Apple’s while they’re at it.
I see that as a very real possibility.
Mike
I’m simply frustrated with the fact (and you did point this out, Mike) that the app store doesn’t identify the apps you’ve already got installed. It’s really limited in its use to existing customers. However, I DO like the Bodega App you mentioned. I just downloaded it and to me, it’s what the app store should have been.

Good point Travis. This is something I mentioned on the forum post in the Mac App Store thread. Many more “bugs” and feature wishes are mentioned there. Here’s the link to the discussion. http://forums.formaceyesonly.com/index.php?topic=278.msg1036#msg1036
